About Lorinda Youngcourt
Youngcourt Law Office was founded by Lorinda Meier Youngcourt in 2000. The physical office is located on Ms. Youngcourt’s horse farm two miles north of Huron. In the office, she employs a full time legal assistant, an investigator, and other experts on an as needed basis. She established her southern Indiana office in 2000 after practicing law in Indianapolis for 12 years. While in Indianapolis, Ms. Youngcourt worked for four years as a Deputy State Public Defender and was later a partner at Evans, Dowling & Youngcourt in Broad Ripple where she focused on all aspects of criminal law.
Throughout her 22 year legal career, Ms. Youngcourt has represented 15 men facing the death penalty. She has defended clients against charges of murder, rape, child molest, battery, forgery, theft, illegal drugs, and driving while intoxicated.
She enjoys teaching other lawyers and is a faculty member of the National Criminal Defense College and the Indiana Public Defender Council Trial Practice Institute. Ms. Youngcourt has never forgotten her roots as a public defender and accepts indigent appointments from county judges throughout southern Indiana for trial and appellate work.
This website is being created in an attempt to provide quick information about published cases, news, and events of interest to Indiana criminal defense lawyers. To this end, you may want to consider using this site’s RSS feed.
If you know of an event or news that you feel should be added, please forward the information to me at lmyoungcourt@incrimlaw.org. As this is a work in progress, please send me your thoughts and ideas on how to make this site useful. Thank you!
